About This Journal

Mission

The Journal of Excellence in Nursing and Healthcare Practice’s (JENHP) mission is to translate and disseminate research-based evidence into clinical, educational, and/or administrative practices that improve patient outcomes and promote excellence in nursing care. Open Access

The journal supports the open exchange of information and offers Diamond Open Access, which includes free access to peer-reviewed articles and content without charging article processing and publishing fees. Please see the Policies section for more information on authors’ rights.

Publication Schedule

All manuscripts are peer reviewed, and authors receive a first decision approximately 20 days after submission. Upon final acceptance, articles in a volume year are published online immediately after completion of the editorial process.

The Editors

Maria M. Ojeda, DNP/PhD, MPH, BA, APRN, NP-C, BC-ADM is a full-time faculty member in the PhD in Nursing program at Walden University. She has developed and conducted research, evidence-based practice, quality improvement projects within the health care industry for many years. Dr. Ojeda has taught at the graduate level for several years and has developed continuing education courses for working professionals who want to know more about research design and statistical analysis. She has a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals as well as poster and podium presentations at local, regional and national conferences. Her major areas of interest are Diabetes mellitus, quality and safety, population health, measurement, and big data analytics.

Diane Whitehead, EdD, DNP, RN, ANEF is a full-time faculty member in the Walden University School of Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice program. She has been actively teaching and administering associate degree, bachelor’s, and graduate nursing programs for many years. Dr. Whitehead has published in the areas of nursing leadership and management and online nursing education. Her textbook, Essentials of Nursing Leadership and Management had been used in nursing programs for over a decade. Additional publications include Leadership and the Advanced Practice Nurse and Health Promotion: Translating Evidence to Practice. She is a fellow in the National League for Nursing Academy of Nursing Education. Dr. Whitehead’s focus has been on leadership, management, and health promotion.
