Three Historic Moments and the People Who Shaped Walden

Abstract
This presentation draws on a larger study of the history of Walden University, from its founding in 1970 to the present day. During these five decades, the university faced many critical moments which involved the efforts of many people. Together, we will look at just three of those moments and for each moment one person among many whose efforts helped to make Walden what it is today. Telling the story of Walden comes at a critical time for it reveals the effectiveness of a university that is both for-profit and for good when for-profit education has a poor reputation. It also comes at the time of another critical moment that will introduce the university to new owners. (72 minutes)
