Abstract
This article discusses strategies on how to support the parents of a baby that is stillborn and specifically focuses on parents that have had the physical experience of meeting the child that has died. Strategies that may help some parents include learning about the dreams the parents had for the baby; being mindful of words used in describing the baby; encouraging parents to create artifacts that represent their baby; talking about feelings of guilt; discussing feelings of isolation; and in many cases, the feeling of a loss of innocence.
