Developing a sustainable environment for workplace diversity

Abstract

The purpose of this review was to highlight the importance of developing a sustainable environment for achieving workplace diversity. The driving concept is for organisations to use the power of diversity as a foundation for developing a sustainable competitive advantage. In addition, factors were considered that may lead to the development of a sustainable environment favorable to attracting and retaining a diverse workforce. This paper presents a number of companies that have been successful employing diversity for organisational success and then provides a model for developing a sustainable environment for workplace diversity.
