Abstract
The number one complaint I hear from nurses is the lack of communication in their organizations, but nobody seems to have a good answer as to how to find the time to communicate face-to-face during a busy workday. There are technology solutions, but this week, I was told by one nurse that the electronic medical record is a horrible solution and that nurses need to go back to communicating face-to-face and using paper charts. Some administrators believe that people should be banned from texting on their mobile phones during the workday.
