Abstract
The retention of part-time faculty benefits the community college in many respects. The employment of part-time faculty has increased dramatically to solve the issues of rapidly growing student enrollments and increasing budget cuts. In addition, part-time faculty provide increased flexibility from an institutional perspective. A model is proposed to address the needs of faculty and create a sense of institutional commitment.
