Abstract

Nonprofit professional associations often face challenges in sustaining organizational excellence and member engagement within resource-limited environments. Certified public accountant (CPA) organizational leaders are concerned with identifying effective strategies to enhance performance and ensure long-term organizational service relevance. Grounded in the Baldrige Excellence Framework and resource-based view theory, the purpose of this qualitative single case study research project was to identify and explore strategies that online CPA organizational leaders can use to develop a comprehensive digital presence framework to attract and retain organizational clients. The participant was a single Canadian CPA organizational leader. Data were collected through semistructured interviews and analysis of organizational documents. Thematic analysis highlighted cohesive leadership, adaptive decision-making, collaborative culture, and community reputation as core strengths. A key recommendation for CPA organization leaders is to implement structured feedback loops to enhance engagement, continuous improvement, and deepen stakeholder collaboration to enhance resilience. The implications for positive social change are evident in how data-driven engagement and adaptive programming help organizations identify underserved groups, address evolving needs, and bridge resource and skills gaps to foster sustained equity and participation. Diversified delivery formats and multichannel communication dismantle structural barriers, expand access to knowledge, and build resilient networks capable of collective action. Strategic, trust-based partnerships enhance innovation, maximize reach, and embed lasting social change within communities.
