Abstract
Medications used in mental health and psychiatric nursing are complex, difficult to learn, and have potentially deadly side effects. Because psychiatric medications are used in all specialty areas students nurses must learn to administer them safely and teach clients and their families about the actions, potential side effects, and potential impact on the recipient.
